There’s no better way to shop than to have James Murphy DJ his set according to your hesitations and impulses as you browse through a Vintage Tee Rack. His wife Mandy is also going Team DJ too. And remember if you don’t like her set better, James Murphy is sleeping on the couch.

This will easily be the Best NYC Party this year. Nothing short of Daft Punk could possibly throw a better Dance Party.
To put things into perspective, I bought a ticket to the UK last March just to rock out at this party and to experience their new album Nite Versions live. It kicked my ass (evidence)
Easily, the best thing happening in Dance Music now. Dave P would agree. Soulwax is everything good in rock and dance music melded perfectly into a beautiful symbiosis of dance floor bliss. Many dance punk bands have done well but Soulwax simply destroyed the battlefield with their formula. Soulwax figures that there’s no need to worry about balancing the punk and electro aesthetic into one song. For every great catchy rock song that Soulwax makes, they just make an even better dance remix of it. And the results are simply ridiculous.
As if that wasn’t enough, Soulwax will also be dropping record as their 2ManyDJs counterpart. 2ManyDJs are easily among the best DJs in the world. Up there with Optimo and Erol Alkans. They practically invented the Mash Up with their now famous Kylie Minogue vs New Order remix.
If you’re one of those New Yorkers who gripe that NYC never dances at shows anymore, then go see Soulwax. You won’t be disappointed.
•Speaking of Mash Ups, the new Multiple-Mash-Up Sensation Girl Talk will be playing Mercury Lounge this Friday. Sure to be worth checking out. A party a bit closer in the future than Radio Soulwax.
When talking who’s a Beast and who can take serious damage, a couple names usually come up in conversation: Jack Bauer, Bruce Willis in Diehard, Toshiro Mifune in any Samurai film. But seriously none of these guys can say they kick more Nazi ass and take more punishment than Indiana Jones.
One of the most overlooked aspects of an Indiana Jones Film is that punch sound. When you hear that punch emanate from a Nazi’s face and Indy’s Fist, all you can do is smile with satisfaction and say, “Yup.” The sound engineers produced the punch sounds by piling old leather jackets and baseball mitts together and hitting it with giant swings from a baseball bat. How good is that?!!
Anyways, what better way to enjoy those punch sounds than to hear them echo off the Brooklyn Bridge on a perfect cool summer evening with the greatest view of the city as a backdrop.

11:45pm
Skanky Panky - Kid Koala
Press Play. Once Kid Koala’s procession begins it will feel like you turned the ignition key in the middle of ToonTown. You are slowly leaving this comfortable friendly world through–Yes that’s right–the big red curtains at the border of ToonTown and into a long dark tunnel leading into the dark mystery of night.
11:50pm
Stoney Street – Amon Tobin
Welcome to the night, my friend. The unknown encloses everything around you except for what is staring back at you in your highbeams. Things are more serious now. The dark of the night is more urgent than the home you just left. Regardless, you are still enjoying yourself.
11:55pm
Midnight in a Perfect World – DJ Shadow
You are deeper into the night. The movements and motions you take seem more epic—as well as the music. Midnight is approaching. Brace yourself. Things may get weirder.
Midnight
Juba – DJ Spooky
The clock strikes 12. Time slows down to molasses. The physical world slowly dissolves around you. Your mind is hazy from the transition but it’s a small price to pay for now the portal is open for you to explore the night.
12:05am
Organ Donor – DJ Shadow
The night becomes more focus. Out of the abstract realm of Juba, you now have a clearer mentality to look into the night and into your own self.
12:07am
True Confessions – RJD2
In your heighten awareness, confessions of your past guilts come pouring out. You beat yourself over your stupidity and selfishness. Soon, you are exhausted, dazed, and numb from your confessions but you feel lighter now and breath easier.
12:12am
Private Interlude (Kinobe Remix) – Groove Armada
At ease, enjoy yourself. Now that you cleared your conscious, you can sit back and relax. Soak in the lightness of being.
12:17am
Turtle Soup (Wagon Christ Mix) – DJ Food
Congratulations. You made it this far. Enjoy the music. And have fun again.
12:20am
Dreaming – Mawglee
Hmm. In the midst of all this complacency, you now start to wonder if this journey has been all part of a dream.
12:24am
Meeting in the Aisles – Radiohead
With the jangling guitars tugging at your medulla, you are now positive that this is all part of a dream that is too real. Or maybe it is real but your moving through it in a dream-like state.
12:27am
Crazy Love – Colder
You are now getting worried. Whether it is a dream or not, you feel deep down that you need to get out of here no matter what. You begin frantically looking for a way out.
12:32am
…Meet his Maker – DJ Shadow
After serious contemplation, you have found the answer. The only way out is to succeed in the Three Tasks of DJ Shadow. First round is to meet your maker. Once you have truly discovered where you come from as a person, you may move onto the next stage.
12:35am
Giving up the Ghost – DJ Shadow
The next Task of DJ Shadow is to Give up your Ghost. Once you have completely abandoned all attachment to your former ghosts, you can advance to the next level.
12:41am
Stem/Long Stem/Transmission 2 – DJ Shadow
The final and longest of the Three Tasks of DJ Shadow. This is a dangerous gauntlet that begins in tranquil calmness. But don’t be misled. A pummeling of DJ Shadow drumbeats catches you off-guard. If you’re bewilder by the chaos, try concentrating on the melody it will lead you to safety…
Once again, you are on familiar ground. Is it Organ Donor again? Not quite. Something’s different. All of a sudden, you’re ranting to yourself about parking tickets. Before you know it, you’re floating in a void of nothing.
At peace.
12:50am
Lovely Head – Goldfrapp
End Credits. Enjoy yourself as you exit the theater.
