Monthly Electro Fix

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Once again it’s time to display the shiniest brand spankin new electro rockers that have been ripping up the dancefloors in the past month.

Van She Tech has a brilliant remix of their compatriots from Australia, The Teenagers. A beautiful cut-up voice of a girl fluctuates in and out until a seriously hacksawed guitar synth comes in. Pummeling stutter beats swoop in to reinforce the rhythm brigade. Everything is so compress that it hits you in the gut. Also to contrast, a sweet 80s synth-lead zooms by in a ‘83 Lamborgini Diablo–so fast that we barely get to make out the ridiculous solo. These Aussie girls are simply amazing behind the production board.

Guns N Bombs hail from LA with the modus operandi of puting “the USA other than NYC” on the map of the electro scene. Already signed to Kitsune, their style flies along the darker side of the Dirty French Electro bunch. Smooth arpeggios lead into buzz saws. When the track hits the ground it really runs. It’s nice to see this music can be made outside the old continent.

You. Yes, you, need this. Why wasn’t this out earlier?

Now, Brian, if you can write some machine-learning (listening, haha) app that interfaces with this and queries Amazon and Tourfilter then we’re on to something.
