I hope when I arrive to Studio B, Daft Punk’s Pyramid will materialize on stage and they’ll DJ till sunrise while James Murphy hands out drinks and Kavinksy will give everyone rides in his Testarossa from Coney Island.

I’ve been living amok in Tokyo for the past month hence the lack of updates. While shopping in Shibuya (Think Williamsburg of Tokyo with the sensory overload of Time Sq) I came across this store called Crisp. It turned out to be one of my favorite Tokyo Stores. Not only were the staff super friendly but there was this great cover of the Clash’s Garageland playing in the store. I immediately pulled a Quentin Tarentino and ask for the CD. It turned out to be the beautiful Caede. Highly recommended for the Japanese Audiophiles who like the cross over talents of Cibo Matto and Cornelius. Caede puts a fun electro touch to the original punk classic. Alphabet Shuffles swims in Tongue in Cheek refrences from Bjork to Zombies without any hint of sarcasm. I honestly don’t think Japanese can be sarcastic cus they are genuinely enthusiastic about anything they talk about.
Thank you LifeLike and Kris Menace for this music video. From the same succint pedigree as Simian Mobile Disco’s Hustler video, the Discopolis video basically gives you exactly what you want. The video consist of a perfect olive skin beauty, in the most ridiculous bikini, walking around. That’s it! Amazing! Kris Menace and Alan Braxe are touring right now. God please come to the states!
Kavinsky is playing Studio B this Friday. If he rolls up to Greenpointe in a Testarossa, my head would explode. Be sure not too miss the French Zombie Moroder.
A fan hailing from Dayton, Ohio has confessed to me that the rigors of medical school has prevented him from staying in touch with the music scene this past year. He requested a mix that both highlights the music he has missed and one that channels the kinetic nature of NYC inorder reinvigorate his overworked mind during Board Exam Studies. So this mix is dedicated to all the listeners out there who don’t always have available access to a music scene nor the flexibility and free time to keep up to date with the ever evolving music.
